We’re still alive.
It has been over 2 years since my last post in 2006.
I think those who were interested in our project may be confused and wanted to find out how our guys were doing. Well, the only good news is that we’re still alive.
I moved from Beijing to Tokyo to work for one of my favorite game companies. Derrick and Googol are now staying in Beijing. They’ll have a good summer because of the coming Olympic Games 2008. Andrew continues his school life in the United States, if I didn’t guess wrong. Yes, we’re still alive, and devote all our time to the daily life: work or school.
And now let’s come the part of the project. I don’t want to tell a lie, but the project progressed little in the last two years. That’s bacause we all felt lost in the great amount of work which had to be done in the full version, especially me. I just could’t find a solution to balance between the project and my daily life. So we just paused, as we don’t want the project to chain ourselves too much.
But after reading some of the comments about our project on the Internet, I feel it that the result of the project is unfairy for those who’re still waiting for the full game. We’re really disappointing them.
I have a new idea after thinking it over for a long time. I decided to open the project to the public, like all open-source project, to those who’re willing to help. Wiki would be the way to do it. I’ll release the full Chinese text (item names, descriptions, scripts, etc. ) on a wiki at first, so everyone can discuss it, translate it, edit it and argue on it. Obviously the exsiting wiki program couldn’t fulfill our requirements functionally. I’ll have to consider how the interface of the wiki would be and how to modify it in the codes. Now it’s just a rough idea. I’ll try to see how much we can make it though no one has any experience on doing it.
I just want to gather the power of all of yours to compete the full game. So please let me hear you if you had come up with some ideas or advises, or if you could offer some kind of help. And now I’m so excited as I was when I first started the project.
Tomorrow will never die.
