Progress Report

After I repaired my crashed windows system, good news came in succession.

1. Googol's items/magics names exporter/inserter is finished, and works perfectly well. You can see from the snapshot below.

2. Derrik's script dumper is done, too. And we can see his inserter on the horizen.

Progress Report

All the team members worked so hard to get serveral archivements, and our project is going on very well.

1. Jacky's graphics editor was done. It can be used to convert the packed graphics files into several single bmp ones, and repack them into the game. And the result turned out to be perfect without changing their transparent areas.

2. Derrick successfully modified the in-game font, which made the game look much more pleasing. I think he'll have to do the same work with 3 versions of the exe files of the game, as there're so many versions corresponding to different OS.

3. Google's exporter of all items/magics names and descriptions was completed, and Andrew has started to translate them. Detailed information will be posted here when they're finished.

Our Team Members

As this project was going on its right path, we now have a team of 4 members, who's working days and nights to present you this romantic Chinese love story. We are:

Jacky: Coordinator, main cracker and general translator. Now working on a graphics editor.

Andrew: Translator of details, translating advisor. Now working on the special names and items and magics in the game.

Derrick: In charge of the dialogue script editing. Now working on the script exportor and inserter, and may soon take some part in translation, if time allowing.

Googol: Not google it is! Remember! In charge of items/magics editor(the g*.dat files). Now on a visit to his relatives, I think.

Progress Report

I'm sorry that it has been a long time I didn't post any news here.
Everything was going on well, in both translating and cracking, after I finished my exams on Jan the 23rd. I think we can finish this project on schedule. Following are the details.

1.On translation: Andrew and I are dealing with those special names of the characters and items. We attempt to make these names cool but not strange.

2.On cracking the graphics: I figured out the way of uncompressing and unpacking the graphics files. So we can view and edit them freely now. But I have to think of a method to pack them back and ensure that the game can read the repacked files.

3.On cracking the script system: I've found the pointer file to the strings in game. I was cheated at one time by the program, thinking that the game uses no pointer. But it was proved wrong soon. Then I trace the file reading log to discover one file being accessed frequently. I came to know eventually, the file, named GeIndex.dat, is the index file of all strings. And I can read some of its meaning now.

Well, that's what we've done now. I hope we can release a trial version of the game in May.
